Chronology of cameras Mamiya
Although, on top is written "Camex", this device is a Mamiya, as evidenced by the initials of the Japanese brand. This case was manufactured for the Indian market.
A remarkable feature of this medium format 6 x 6 is the focusing system: It is the film and not the lens that moves .Adjustment is by a knob on the back, a rear metal plate ensuring a good flatness of the film. The coupled rangefinder is integrated in a viewfinder of good dimensions.
The lens, a Minolta Rokkor 75 1: 3.5, has replaced the Zuiko usually mounted on this type of device, the shutter remaining a Compur Rapid with flash sync. Speed are adjustable from1 to 1/500 and B.
The winding of the film is by a knob on the body controlling the passage of views on the little red window at the back. A double exposure prevention mechanism is available, needed because of the cocking uncoupled on the shutter.
Finally, the lightweight housing, the comfort of the aiming and control facilities allow for a pleasant use.
